FAQs

Questions and answers for prospective Traders

Q: Can I register to be a Phoenix Trader on the phone?

A: No, we do need your signed agreement before we can process your application.

Q: Does my agreement need to be signed by my sponsor?

A: No it is not essential but please remember to send your sponsor their copy.

Q: Can my daughter (who’s 17) become a Phoenix Trader?

A: To become a trader you have to be over 18.

Q: Do I have to be VAT registered if I would like to become a Phoenix Trader?

A: No, you only need to register for VAT when your ‘taxable supplies’ exceed the statutory limit – currently £60,000.

Q: Can I place an order to be shipped with my business kit?

A: Yes you may order extra items and we will ship everything together. Most people purchase one of our special offer product packs. You cannot spend more than £200 with us in the first seven days. This is a statutory limit.

Q: How long will it take for my business kit to arrive?

A: We will normally ship your business kit the day after receiving your signed agreement form and payment. We ship on a next day delivery basis to addresses on the UK mainland except the Highlands of Scotland where deliveries normally take 2 days.

Q: How many brochures are included in the business kit?

A: There are 50 brochures for use on their own plus 1 in each of the 3 information packs included in your business kit.

Q: Do you require a minimum amount to be spent in order to use a debit/credit card?

A: No.

Q: How much will I pay for delivery of my orders?

A: The standard charge for UK deliveries is £6+VAT. If your order includes product to the value of £125 wholesale value (net of VAT) a reduced rate of £4+VAT applies. There is no delivery charge for your combined business kit and first order.

Q: How long do orders take to arrive?

A: Delivery will be a maximum of 5 working days from receipt of your order for UK mainland addresses except the Highlands of Scotland where deliveries normally take an extra day. We regularly deliver in less than 5 days but it is safer to plan around the longer period.

Q: Can I advertise on the internet or in publications?

A: Any advertising or promotion, direct or indirect, must be approved by one of the company directors. Permission to advertise on the internet is always refused. This applies to internet trading sites such as eBay, personal/commercial websites and the use of forums. We have no objection to Traders using forums to air their views on Phoenix, negative or positive and we have no wish of trying to curtail people’s freedom to say what you like about us but we do wish to curb the unauthorised use of the internet to promote our business, product and opportunity. When traders advertise without our authority, there is a real danger that, inadvertently, claims are made about our proposition which misrepresent the offer and do not comply with the statutory notices that someone promoting a direct selling business needs to adhere to. There is also an issue of artist's copyright where images are used without permission.

Q: Can I sell to shops?

A: We operate only as a direct selling business and do not supply any retail outlets, although as a company we are approached regularly by shop proprietors. We think that sales through shops would create conflict between distribution channels and we make a clear statement in our literature that our products are available exclusively through Independent Phoenix Traders who operate a direct to consumer service. Shops include tearooms, hotels and guesthouses, farm shops and play centres.

Q: Is there a minimum order?

A: No, you may order as much or as little as you want.

Q: Do I have to order every month?

A: No, that’s the beauty and simplicity of this business, you order whenever you want. There are no requirements to reach sales targets. We have Traders who join for the sole purpose of fundraising for their chosen charity for three months a year and we have Traders who, from day one, structure their business to take full advantage of all the reward benefits extra sales can bring. But, it is important to understand that this is their choice and they can take a sabbatical whenever they chose without any penalty.

Q: Do I have to purchase a specific amount of products each month?

A: No, you can order as much or as little as you wish. To qualify for bonus payments, you need to meet the volume criteria in the months in which you wish to be paid bonuses.
